Meta has announced significant updates to its video editing app, Edits, introducing enhanced insight tools and creative features designed to help creators and social media marketers build more effective video projects.
The updates aim to provide deeper understanding of video performance within the application itself, streamlining the creation and optimization process.

The upgraded insight tools within Edits now offer expanded data on overall engagement rates for content posted to Instagram. Creators can also access information on peak engagement times within their video clips, helping to identify the most impactful moments.
Additionally, the insights provide a clearer breakdown of engagement and views from followers versus non-followers.

A notable addition is the new comparative data sampling feature. This allows users to see how each Reel performs relative to their other uploads, providing specific benchmarks for understanding what resonates with their audience and guiding future planning decisions.
While platform-specific data remains available within each app, the inclusion of these robust insights directly within Edits offers a convenient way for users to plan and refine their content during the creation process.

Beyond analytics, Meta has introduced several creative updates. Edits now includes more control over caption presentation, including the option to censor profanity and automatically add filler words. The app also features improved image blending effects and a custom font aligned with the Met Gala event.
These updates, combined with Meta’s recently added artificial intelligence tools, further enhance Edits’ capabilities, solidifying its position as a valuable tool for video editing and content optimization on social platforms.
